It gets pretty good mileage, especially considering it´s a wagon. And, being a Volvo, it is incredibly safe. I have all paperwork for repairs and maintenance. Details: For sale: 1984 Volvo 242 (240 with 2 doors) with a B23F 4 cylinder and a 3 + 1 speed AW70 automatic transmission. I recently rebuilt the top end of the engine. A new head from a turbocharged car has been put on. It has gotten a new camshaft, cam shims and lifters, water pump, timing belt, alternator belt, head gasket, radiator, injectors, fuel rail, etc. Main fuel pump went out a few days later and I´m tired of messing with it after all that work. Still needs aforementioned fuel pump, flame trap (or flame trap hose simply plugged), and the brakes bled. If you want to run a cat, you will have to get one of those also. The exhaust had the cat already deleted when I got the car. If you know these old Volvos, you know they´re tough and the two doors are rare. This car has no rust. The engine bottom end is incredibly strong, made with forged steel crankshaft and con rods. I can sell the car with the turbo wheels with bad tires, or some turbine alloys with good tires. I have 3 Volvo parts cars and any other parts one might want can be negotiated. These include a Turbo 2.1, a 4 +1 manual gear box, a turbo dana differential and a lot more which I will not bore you by listing. Please call 828 702 4626. There are no apologies for her! I will list below the good and bad. I am going to tell you ALL I know and can think of so as to represent it true and accurate to the best of my ability.The good- Car is very solid with NO RUST!A. Car has good interior (only crack is where butt slides in and out on drivers´ side.) Cracks not rip.B. She has a good cold A/C that was just charged last week.C. Of course a furnace for a heater.D. Tires are over 90% tread life.E. Carpet is all good, and center console is in 1 piece.F. Timing belt has been replaced within the last year.G. Just had an oil change last week.H. Overdrive works fine and transmission shifts very smooth.I. Car does NOT smoke.The bad-A. There is a very small crack in the windshield- This has never hindered state inspection.B. The aftermarket radio will only function with volume on high (way to loud) however it picks up and works. I feel sure its the radio itself.C. There is a small piece of molding missing from the right rear quarter.D. The clear coat is coming off the hood and roof.E. The dash is cracked in typical old Volvo fashion.F. The car as for a 1988 has typical scratch here and there. (Nothing major)G.
