Details: You are looking at a 1982 Volvo 240 sedan in its original, freshly repainted color.This car runs and drives great, and I drive it everyday (it is my only car.)It has a 4 cylinder engine that is very fuel efficient with a 4 speed manual transmission with push button overdrive.I put the newer style hubcaps on this vehicle because I like the way they look better than the originals. The original hubcaps are much smaller and are only centercaps. They are still on the wheels, behind the new ones.The good:The tires are VERY new.Nearly everything is working with this car, which is pretty rare given its age.The interior is in GREAT condition with the exception of the driver´s seat (some small holes) and the rear speaker cover is missing the cloth that was originally on it.I actually pulled the beat up cloth off of it with the intention of recovering it, but never got around to it.The radio works great, along with the antenna that still goes up when the car is turned on and retracts when the car turns off.Every speaker works great.All doors and power locks work great.It has crank windows that all function perfectly.The overdrive still functions (rare for volvo 240´s) but intermittentlyIt has brand new emblems that I purchased for almost 50 bucks apiece about a month ago.The bad:The overdrive will usually only work consistantly after the car has been operating for about 10 minutes.The odometer is stuck at 199,000 miles (has been since I´ve owned it) but occasionally will advance. Therefore I have no idea how many actual miles are on this car. I don´t think it is even the original odometer because there is a date on the back of it that says 1992. Also, I have taken the odometer apart and figured out the problem (loose gear) but I can´t fix it because someone previously superglued some of the other gears that need to be removed. My advice would be to get one from a junk yard and put it in yourself. This can be done in about an hour for the average do-it-yourselfer.The rear reverse lenses are missing (I have the original driver side one that goes with the car).This car has a salvage title (I have no idea on the details, as this was brought to my attention when I went to register it) The title that was signed over to me did not say salvage at all.Many of the ´bad´ things about this car are very common among 240´s and typically have a very simple fix.This is cheap reliable transportation. These vehicles are built like tanks and were considered the safest car in the world for something like 10 years in a row.Call 712-830-5327 if interested, or feel free to text for more pictures. The car is mechanically rock solid. Last April a deer hit me at low speed and put a minor dent in drivers side front fender. Dent is barely noticeable and I have included a picture of it. In 2009, The engine and transmission were swapped with a rebuilt one. The body currently has 205,000 miles on it, but the engine and transmission only have about 63,000. The guy I bought it from used it to travel around the midwest for business so most of his were highway miles. Most of my miles were put on it between Ames, IA and Omaha, NE back and forth every weekend for college. Oil has been changed by me every 3000-3500 miles. All the stuff that goes out on cars has been replaced by me. Alternator, Water Pump, Radiator, and more. This would be a great commuter car as the gas mileage is great and its fun to drive.
