Details: For sale is my 1997 Volvo 850 T-5 Turbo 110K milesI am from Lawrence and recently purchased this car on an extended vacation in San Diego. A few weeks ago, I drove it 1,500 miles back to Kansas with no problems at all.I have owned an 850 and S70 (both of which I bought brand new). I actually like the 850 better. Allegedly, it´s the same car, but I disagree. I think the 850 is stiffer (a good thing) and that the S70 has more ´Ford´ in the car. I thought I would fix the car up and keep it, but have changed my mind.Here´s the good:Low miles (average of 8K per year). Good engine and transmission.Immediately after purchasing the car, I had the timing belt and water pump changed by a certified Volvo mechanic (I have receipt for $531.91).The turbo makes her fast.Newly upholstered seats - the leather was dry and cracked. I had them recovered in a two-tone color scheme (it´s vinyl, not leather, but still looks good - that was $500). The seat heaters still work.New battery and srut housing.The car is 15 years old and not perfect, so here is what is wrong or less than perfect.The third brake light doesn´t work, which makes the light-out warning light come on when you step on the brake. I haven´t tried to fix it.There is dent in the driver´s side fender (I actually have an email out to someone who has the same color 850 they are parting out, so you could just install the same color fender for cheap... I´ll update my ad after I receive a response from the seller).The clear-coat is fading in a few spots (as could be expected in a 15 year old car).Car could use new brakes -- there is a bit of rotor wobble, but I have purchased 4 new rotors and pads (drilled and slotted) for $180. If I´m going to sell the car, I don´t want to pay to have the brakes done -- these brakes are included in the price.The heater/air conditioner works great, but it only comes out the front vents and defrost. The climate control servo,which controls the ventilation system,needs replacing. There is a servo for $34.95 on eBay. The part isn´t expensive, but you have to take apart the dash, which is time consuming.The check engine light is on. I had a mechanic hook up the computer up, and it said that it was a bad mass airflow sensor. I bought a new mass airflow sensor, and the light went off for about a day, but then came back on. The reason I think this is happening is because it needs a new fuel filler neck ($45 on eBay)When you fill the gas tank 100% full, it may leak some - maybe a cup - and then stop. I filled the car up with gas full about 6 times, and it leaked a little 3 times. If you fill it up more after the pump auto-shuts off, it will definitely leak a little. Sometimes after the the pump auto-shut off, it did leak, other times, it did not. Again, the leak issue is only if it´s 100% or more full -- and even then it only leaks a little and stops. Because the car is fuel injected, the system must be pressurized for everything to display OK in the computer. Even a little leak will cause the computer to register a ´mixture´ error. However, the car still drives fine.I outlined everything I know what is wrong with the car. The Kelly Blue Book private party values are as follows: Excellent $3,415Very Good $3,365Good $3,090Fair $2,565The price is $2,565 firm -- and I´m still losing quite a bit of money. Either pay $2,565 or don´t. Don´t make me an offer, or tell me your reasons why you think the car is less. I am not motivated to sell it and can just as easily keep it. Details: If you want something that is great looking, quick, and great in winter weather here it is. I´m selling my 2004 Volvo S60R because I need to make room for my new car. The mileage is a little high around 178k now, but if you know anything about Volvos 2.5T engine you know they are good for over 300k. Timing belt was done at 160k. I recently had the front suspension replaced with new struts, control arms, and brake pads. It also has brand new top of the line all weather Cooper tires. They were around $500 each after balancing mounting and an alignment. If you are a person who LIKES to drive you´ll LOVE this car. It is a 300hp turbo sedan that was made to compete with the Audi S4 and BMW M5. It has a 15 speaker sound system with built in subwoofer. It has an active chassis system that can be in comfort, sport, or advanced. When in advanced mode it also activates the sport mode on the transmission. In the time I´ve owned it I have only known of one other S60R in Columbia and that guy moved to St. Louis. I get compliments on how great it looks all the time. The only thing that is rough about the car is the leather interior as the previous owner didn´t take very good care of his seats.
