Details: Christiansburg Mountain claimed head gasket last month. Still running - and now clearing mosquitoes for a block radius when doing so. Technically it can be driven to a new home, within a couple miles, if there are no hills or other obstacles requiring any modicum of power. So if you´re up for a middle-of-the-night run to mask single handedly trying to elect the Pope while saving a few bucks from trailering...Texas car until last year, absolutely no rust. 175k showing. I´ve owned/driven daily last few years clocking over 45k with no main issues other than regular maintenance. (There are a couple small dings and quirks, like typical Volvo ignition switch short.) Recent front brakes. Air is charged annually (2 cans under $25 @ Walmart.) and lasts throughout season. Even has a custom grill. This is an automatic non-turbo car that consistently returns 21-22 mpg city and 24-27 mpg hwy.Head gasket costs $100 (+ planing head and labor if not installing yourself). Fine folks over at Boxy agree there are plenty of miles left on this one and that it is worth doing head gasket. Had 2 cars here and switched other to daily. Volvo has been sitting a month. If this helps a fellow Volvo enthusiast out, it can go. If not, will get around to fixing/keeping. Value to me is rarely seen dark charcoal leather interior that is in nice shape - and more recent OEM Volvo 17´ wheels (that have new tires). Realistically priced by adding scrap value of car plus what rare color interior would bring separately. Not open to any cockimamy lowball offer. Details: 1975 Volvo 245DL 2.0L B20 engine, 4 speed M40 non-overdrive transmission, fuel injection, electronic ignition, 4 wheel disc brakes, leather interior, runs and drives well, current 8/12 inspection, needs good home. I´ve owned this car about four years it had sat for 9-10 years before that, lots of new parts. Most of the fuel system has been re done, fuel distributer, injectors, pump, filter, tank. Tune up parts and belts are recent as well. Water pump and radiator, blower motor, most of the exhaust, and drive shaft carrier bearing have been replaced along with all four tires since I´ve owned it. The bad: Lots of surface rust with some deep pitting but NOT RUSTED THROUGH ANYWHERE good thick metal. The interior is cracked faded and dirty, but fully functional, smells like an old car. The fog lights are mostly decoritive as the reflective backing has peeled off. The gas tank is a cheap aftermarket job made in Tiawan, it fits and holds gas but they neglected to put any baffles in it so below half a tank the engine will sputter while cornering it´s annoying but I´ve learned to live with it. Also has a small fuel leak around the fuel accumulater, new accumulaters are avalible from FCP Groton on the internet, maybe elsewhere. What else... the original factory AM/FM stereo works great, but there´s only one speaker. The radiator has an electric fan I´ve cobbled together from spare parts it works but may need a little fine tuning by the new owner, the original belt driven fan is also included. Has the sport instument cluster with tachometer odometer shows about 78xxx miles. Heat works great the AC belt is missing. Has snow tires on the rear, this car will plow through deep snow and up hills no problem, it´s an exellent winter vehicle. Looks great with a canoe on the roof. 1975 was the 1st year for the classic Volvo 240 series, 37 years later this is still a great car with lots of modern features just needs some TLC. I really hate to sell it but I have too many cars and no room for anything new if some thing old doesn´t go. Details: Christiansburg Mountain claimed head gasket last month. Still running - and now clearing mosquitoes for a block radius when doing so. Technically it can be driven to a new home, within a couple miles, if there are no hills or other obstacles requiring any modicum of power. So if you´re up for a middle-of-the-night run to mask single handedly trying to elect the Pope while saving a few bucks from trailering...Texas car until last year, absolutely no rust. 175k showing. I´ve owned/driven daily last few years clocking over 45k with no main issues other than regular maintenance. (There are a couple small dings and quirks, like typical Volvo ignition switch short.) Recent front brakes. Air is charged annually (2 cans under $25 @ Walmart.) and lasts throughout season. Even has a custom grill. This is an automatic non-turbo car that consistently returns 21-22 mpg city and 24-27 mpg hwy.Head gasket costs $100 (+ planing head and labor if not installing yourself). Fine folks over at Boxy agree there are plenty of miles left on this one and that it is worth doing head gasket. Had 2 cars here and switched other to daily. Volvo has been sitting a month. If this helps a fellow Volvo enthusiast out, it can go. If not, will get around to fixing/keeping. Value to me is rarely seen dark charcoal leather interior that is in nice shape - and more recent OEM Volvo 17´ wheels (that have new tires). Realistically priced by adding scrap value of car plus what rare color interior would bring separately. Not open to any cockimamy lowball offer.
