Details: Selling because the mother-and-law gave us her old car. It has 183,000 miles. Two light covers are missing and there is a minor dent on one side, barely even noticeable. The AC does not work. Other than that it is great cosmetically. It is perfect mechanically, except the button that puts overdrive on and off has failed leaving it off. This is an easy fix no doubt. The timing belt has been replaced in the last 7,000 miles. This car has been well taken care of and runs beautifully, it should last a long time yet. Details: The negative: Their is a crack in the windshield, one speaker in the back is blown out, a small ding on the lip of the hood, and the check engine light is on.Because it has a check engine light on, I´m selling ´as is´.I recently found out that the ´Check Engine light´ is do to an engine miss fire. My research from a volvo mechanic, says its could be one of 3 things and I qoute, ´ While a spark plug could definitely cause a misfire, so could a whole lot of other things. A bad coil, a bad fuel injector, or even an internal engine problem (such as a bad or burned valve) can cause a misfire as well.If you look at the code that was set this will tell you which cylinder was misfire... Example, P0301 is #1, P0302 is #2, etc. #1 is closest to the belts and #4 is furthest from the belts.If you have a scanner at your disposal you can try this: First remove the spark plug from the missing cylinder and from another cylinder. Compare the two visually. If they both look the same then swap them. If you see obvious differences in the offending cylinder then a new set of plugs should fix the problem.Example is #2 is misfiring (P0302) remove #2 and #3 spark plugs and install #3 into #2 and #2 into #3.Now clear the code and drive it until it misses again. If the offending cylinder is now the other cylinder then you know the spark plug is the problem.If not now swap ignition coils between the same two cylinders and repeat. If the misfire moved to the other cylinder then the ignition coil is to blame.Past this more diagnostic testing becomes necessary to figure out the problem so if you´re still getting the same misfire code at this point then you may need to have a professional diagnose your vehicle.In short its either one of three things, here is the estimates to fix:IF just spark plugs & labor $100-120.IF Parts and labor on each ignition coil is about $110 each.If it´s a fuel injector issue you´re looking at $200 - $400.If it´s a cylinder head (valve) issue it could be in the thousands.Of course this doesn´t include any diagnostic charges, taxes, or shop supply fees.In my professional opinion simply have a bad coil.´I´ve dropped the price accordingly, and its yours for $3150.The positive: Cruise control, sun roof, powered windows, keyless entry with one key and 88564 miles.I am aware if this car was in mint condition this car would sell for $5000 easy because of the miles on the engine. I´ve priced it accordingly and because it needs a new coil, I´ve dropped it from $3460 to $3150. Which is my bottom price.Are you ready for a test drive?Lets make an appointment.
