Details: When some people think of a Volvo, they think of safety and a reputation for reliability. They also think about the target audience for those qualities - Soccer moms! Though this car is safe and reliable, its has a little more than your standard Volvo as you will soon see.I purchased this car about 3 years ago with 200,000 miles on it to drive it daily as my commuter car. I have all the records from the previous owner, and down to the cleaning solution for the factory cassette deck. After about 10,000 miles it started to feel sluggish, so I set out to rebuild the engine. I located a replacement with only 100,000 miles and then did a light rebuild on it (new rings, bearings and seals). Then I kept going. I rebuilt the transmission, modified the accumulator to make it shift faster, ported and polished the heads, rebuilt and ported the turbo, replaced the oil and water pumps, timing belt, fuel filter, distrubutor, wires and a bunch of other sensors for preventative maintenance. Once this was done I enjoyed the car in its new fresh state and then started doing a couple light performance mods. I installed anti-sway bars for a little better handling, E-code (European spec) headlights that have WAY better light output, oil pressure and boost gauges, a slightly more aggressive cam for more top end power, and boost controller for a tiny bit more boost than stock (12 PSI vs. 10 Stock).I also took care of some of the other problems old cars have: Replaced the headliner and fixed a leak in the HVAC system. I have receipts for parts totaling $3300, though I know I wont get my money back for that, just a point of referenceIn addition to this I put in way more than 100 hours of labor. Why am I selling it? This also makes it a good car to camp in. It can hold 7 people legally, because it has a rear jump seat with seat belts.3) Comfortable for long drives.
